Tartaruga Design Hearth Options
Discover our cast stone hearth options, designed to be partnered with any of our fireplace surrounds and mantels. All hearths are available in our complete range of cast stone finishes.
Ogee Edge Hearth
As much at home in traditional as contemporary settings, this elegant yet unobtrusive contoured stone hearth is inspired by classical architecture. Its concave arch edge (known as an ogee) makes this cast stone hearth a very versatile choice – and our most popular hearth option!
Curved Hearth with Ember Guard
This architecturally correct design, inspired by English styles such as Tudor or Jacobean, has been used for centuries as a purely utilitarian way to keep ashes and embers from rolling out into the room. The ember guard has evolved to be more decorative while retaining its original form.
Square Edge Hearth
A clean-lined modern stone hearth, best suited to be set flush with the surrounding floor finish (as pictured). For a more contemporary look, this clean-lined hearth can also be raised above the finish floor.
Raised Hearth with Ogee Edge
This raised hearth option uses the same Ogee profile as the flat Ogee hearth. The facing slabs employed to raise the height of the hearth allows the accommodation of a raised firebox opening while maintaining a timeless classical design.
Raised Hearth with Square Edge
This raised hearth option uses the same square profile as the flat square hearth. The facing slabs increase the height of the hearth, allowing the accommodation of a raised firebox opening while offering a more contemporary look.
Raised Hearth with Bullnose Edge
This option is the heaviest, more masculine looking of the hearth slab designs. Styled exclusively for our raised hearth option, it is a simple, yet refined look that is more at home in Contemporary or Italianate-Tuscan interiors with larger mantels.
